Who founded the Fresno Camera Club
The Fresno Camera Club was organized in 1891 by Percy Fenton (Adelsbach) Adams and three friends, with Adams it’s President.

When was the Fresno Camera Club Founded?
The Camera Club was founded in 1891.

When and where does the Club meet?
Meetings of the Fresno Camera Club take place at 7 PM on the Third Tuesday of the month (except August and December), at University of California Center, 550 E. Shaw, Fresno, CA 93710-7702, Frontage road on Shaw near Angus, opposite Fashion Fair.

What happens at meetings?
At each meeting there is usually a competition either of prints or slides, and usually a short program of some kind.

Can anyone attend?
Guests and Visitors are welcome at all meetings.

Is there a charge?
There is no charge for coming to the meetings, though you are required to be a member to take part in the monthly competitions.

How much does membership cost?
The charge is $30 annually. Paid for the January to December period.

Who can enter the competitions?
Club competitions are open to any Fresno Camera Club member with membership dues in good standing.

Which is better, film or Digital?
There are a million answers to this to either medium, both have their advantages and problems. Maybe neither is better, what does it matter, just take pictures!

Is the use of Photoshop permitted in Competitions?
Yes, the extent to which it is allowed depends on the division you are competing in.

Do you have or offer classes on how to use dig cameras?
We Don't have classes as such, we do have occasional workshops. Update: as of 2010 the number of workshops has greatly increased.

Do you have children ages nine and up that are in your club? If not do you know of a club that children can participate in?
We do not currently have any children in the club, we do run an annual competition for local schools, the PSA Youth Showcase. Update: As of 2009 our youngest member is 5 years old, though this is not the norm, most of our members are adults.

Yes we are.

Hello, what is the average age of people in your club?
Our Youngest member is 5 years old, our oldest is 95.... the majority of members around retirement age.

Generally speaking anyone that joins from our September meeting through year end get the next years membership included, so 15 months. Lee Cates is our member representative and her number can be found on the contact us section.
